I'm posting here and over at Common Threads today for the block I made this month.
Lynn has been working on a Dear Jane quilt for some time now and every block she posts is wonderful. If you aren't familiar with the pattern, each tiny block in this quilt pattern is unique and requires a variety of skills and techniques to make it. I wanted so much to use that project of hers as my inspiration for her block.
There's no way I'd be able to make each of these blocks a different pattern like a true Dear Jane quilt, and get it sent to her on time. I had a cute little paper pieced pattern on hand from Angry' Chicken's Mailorder Club though and it was perfect for showing off the motifs in two of the fabrics that Lynn sent. I fussy cut the ones I liked the most and used them for the centers in each miniblock.
After that it was a game to pair up the fabrics with each center so that no two had the same fabric as the inner or outer triangles. That was my goal anyway. I had to repeat some greens, but I think they're spread out enough that it isn't that noticable. Go ahead, play I spy and pair them up.
Now it's my turn!!! I've washed all the fabric for my blocks. This week I need to iron and cut it.
